It works greatJul 09, 2009

This battery works great on my MSI wind laptop. I have no complaints and the life is considerably longer than the three cell battery that came with the laptop. It does make it prone to tipping over, but I'm not sure there is a way to avoid it with a six cell battery and a very lightweight laptop. Also, getting it to click into place on the laptop was a bit stiff the first couple of times.

Exactly as I wantedFeb 08, 2009
By John R. There are many online reviews discussing poor MSI Wind compatible 6-cell batteries - especially concerning the capacities of 4400mAh vs 5200mAh ones. While this battery claims to be a 4400mAh, the one I received has a total capacity of just over 5200mAh according to Battery Bar software and a full charge capacity of just over 4500mAh. I'm pleased to say that I managed to get 5 hours out of the battery while being conservative with it, and that normal usage reports a battery live of about 4.5 hours.
For those worried about "Sudden shutdown syndrome" - My wind did restart when the battery hit 50% for the first time - but subsequently has not done that again. I believe in this case it was because Windows XP was "programmed" to turn the computer off once 2100mAh had been drained, even though the battery had more charge left, and needed to adjust for the new added capacity.
Overall, I am THOROUGHLY satisfied with this battery and very happy to have a larger battery for my Wind. Buying from Amazon seemed to be a better strategy than using auctions, and in this case I think combining the price and shipping times (less than 3 days!) I was right.
