5Great companion accessory to the ACER ONEFeb 23, 2009
By Aldo Fucinari
This battery pack is massive compared to the netbook itself. However, you can use it as a handle to carry around the netbook. I followed all the instructions for first time charging to "condition" the battery right out of the box. The result is that I can almost always get between five to six hours out of it. Now, add another two hours for the standard battery, which you will already have, and you can get roughly 8 hours of battery time. It lifts the back of the netbook so that you will have a new typing angle. I actually like the effect. It's an excellent accessory and you might never put the stock battery back on.

3Beware of conditioningOct 06, 2009
By D. Vineyard
Beware that some reviewers recommend conditioning of this battery to extend its life.

NEVER DRAIN COMPLETELY!

Do some searching and you will find that Lithium-ion really cannot be conditioned. Conditioning was required with NiCad.

In fact if you drain them too far too many times they will become a door stop. Dead as a door nail. I followed the advise here and did just that. Now my battery is dead and will no longer charge. Searched and found a LOT of bad information about this until I found some authoritative sites that know bsatteries. They explained that excessive draining of a lithium-ion battery can result in a battery that will no longer take a charge. Sound familiar? Yes. I drained mine too far.

As for the battery... before it died it was working pretty good. I was gettinng over 8 hours out of it. I ding the quality a bit because I wasn't even done with three of the so called conditioning cycles before the battery totally went inert. Seems a better quality product wouldn't have died so soon.

Other reviews saying the battery died quickly too may be a clue to the problem too. But all in all it seemed to be working well up to that point. Just do not drain it below 15% to be safe. Even the provided manual talks about conditioning, but they also say to recharge at the alert level, which is around 12 or 13 percent. Not completely drained like was suggested in some reviews and external anwers sites.

4Good battery, great priceApr 15, 2009
By T. Lutzenberger "consultant"
Acer should have included this battery with the laptop as standard. This is a honking monster the way it's shaped, but you get over that in 5 minutes. Follow the directions and give it a full charge. Then burn it down completely, re do again.

I'm averaging about 5.5 to 6 hours per charge having used the battery a lot the first two weeks. It does make your netbook a little heavier, but not much. And given the price cut from what was originally $120, this is a really good bargain for your money. You're getting a 9 cell for the price of 6 cell. Remember, 6 cells only give about 3-4 hours of juice at best.

The shape of the battery does prop the back of your netbook up a little bit, but it seems to work better on my wrists that way. I know, it's counterintuitive, flat should be less strain. But the angle does improve usability.

5Use my Acer the way I wantJan 21, 2010
By lycantg
When I got my acer aspire one I soon found that it was great but I needed to use it on situations where I had no access to electricity or where it was cumbersome to use, the time I got with the original battery was in no way what I needed. This battery changed it all, I get between 7 to 9 hrs depending on having the wireless enabled and on screen intensity. It is as expected much bigger than the original, but I love the way it improves my typing position, I find it much better than with the original battery. Now I'm using my netbook for hours everyday. Highly recommended, I just regret not getting one sooner.

1Started out well.... but has poor connectionNov 23, 2009
By Kevin Elam
Well, when I got it, I couldn't be happier. Battery life was good. But then I started pushing power button and nothing would happen. Turns out the fit is so snug, it seems to be keeping the battery contacts from making a good connection. I'll push on the battery from the side and see the laptop lights- light up. But when I let go to push the power button, the power is gone. Don't think I want to keep pushing the battery just to keep the power on. Well, that's my experience. Not sure why it started after a few charges. And just for reference, the original battery still works fine.

To sum it up. The battery fits too snug, somehow preventing good electrical contact.

Well, it finally died. After approximately 20 charges, it gave out. And yes, my factory aspire one battery is still running strong. Definitely not happy with this purchase and not buying again. Way too many problems, and too short a life span.
