Disappointing ChargeabilityNov 05, 2010

I bought this for my son replace the battery in my 5 year old Acer that my son was taking to university. I was looking for a battery that would hold a good long charge so he could charge it overnight and it would pretty much give him the whole day on campus and in lectures without recharging. Most replacement batteries you see are 4400 mAh and this one is rated 5200mAh so it should give about 20% more usage life. This is correspondingly more expensive at $66 compared to about $30 for a 4400. Overall, this has been pretty disappointing. The charge guage on the laptop says it only charges up to 1/3 of maximum and it lasts for just 2 hours whereas the original battery that came in the laptop gave me a good 3 hours. Certainly it wasn't worth the extra money.
