 eee pc 1000hAug 21, 2010
It's seems it's a hit or miss with this one. The battery I was sent dimensions were off enough that the contacts wouldn't make. Others in reviews have had no problems with the same eee model. Manufacture needs to control its molding of the the shell of the battery so dimensions are consistent.

I tried the larger "hammerhead" battery but it wouldnt hold its charge.
ordered this, even though it didnt specifically say it would fit into a 1000h.
well I got it, it fits in the 1000h.
as i already expected, it sticks out the back by the size of battery cells (side by side, lengthwise)
doesnt get in the way at all.
I am getting 4 hours on win 7 on high power mode.
havent tested linux yet.
if anyone wonders to get this on the 1000h, get it.

Larger, Heavier, Poor Fit, and UnreliableJun 07, 2010
I purchased two of these batteries to extend the time we might use our two EeePC 1000HE netbooks without a wall outlet. The batteries received are shaped differently, larger, than the batteries supplied with the netbooks. A full-width hump, evidently holding additional cells, sticks roughly a half inch further out the back of the netbook. The batteries also seem slightly heavier than those supplied.
Fit within the netbook's battery compartment is very tight, making the new batteries hard enough to install and virtually impossible to remove. Part of the problem was a serial number label sloppily extending slightly over the mounting mechanism on one side. However, removing that label (supposedly voiding the warranty) and glue did not entirely resolve the problem. To remove the battery, I still had to turn the netbook upside down and tug hard with both hands while my wife held the battery release button. After several fittings, the batteries supplied with the EeePC's seemed to fit a bit more loosely in the battery compartment while the newly purchased batteries remained extremely tight.
Finally, to make matters worse, only one battery actually charged. While one finished charging long before, the other did not fully charge after roughly 20 hours of charge time with the netbook off.
After all that, I obviously decided to return both batteries. I'm now looking for actual ASUS-brand batteries, which is surprisingly difficult since nearly all seem to be selling "compatibles" similar to this battery or those with a much lower mAh rating. This (lack of good additional or replacement batteries) was something I did not anticipate when buying a brand-name netbook.

I purchased this battery for an Asus Eee PC 1000HE. It fits in the slot well and works very well. When you slide the battery into the computer you need to make sure the groves on the sides of the battery are aligned with the tabs on the computer body. If misaligned, then the battery will not slide in and out easily and may get stuck.
On the first try I got close to 7 hrs of use (low settings) which I am happy with. The only culprit is the bulk. The battery is much bulkier than the factory stock battery. There is an extra hump on the back of the battery that you don't see in the original model. This probably doesn't matter much, but if you use a leather case it will create a fit problem, you won't be able to use the leather cover. Otherwise it has been working fine.

*As I said it doesn't fit to my notebook Asus HA1000. I can use the battery hopefully but some times I have to move it back and forth in order my notebook starts.
*it is a necessary part for a notebook ;)
